Education
Education plays a key role in defining the community of Albany and Millersburg.
Linn-Benton Community College (www.linnbenton.edu)
works closely with local businesses to train and educate the work force
in a manner that makes school-to-work an easy transition for both students
and employers. Currently LBCC has an enrollment of 25,500 students of
which 6,880 are registered full time.
In addition, world-class scientific
research programs can be found at Oregon State University
(www.oregonstate.edu)
just minutes away in Corvallis. OSU has an enrollment of 17,101 students
with 14,169 of them being full time.
There are eight other well-respected educational institutions within easy driving distances of the Albany and Millersburg communities.
The Greater Albany Public School District (www.8j.net) encompasses 19 elementary and secondary schools, with annual enrollment just over 8,000. Thirteen private schools are available in the greater Linn County area.
